Crime Watch: East Rockaway, Lynbrook

Arrests

On Aug. 23 at 5:40 a.m., a 19-year-old of Lynbrook was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (Xanax) on Sunrise Highway.

A 31-year-old man, of Oceanside, was arrested on Aug. 23 at 11 a.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance (Suboxone), being an aggravated unlicensed operator and having insufficient stop lamps on Sunrise Highway.

At 7 p.m. on Aug. 23, a 45-year-old man, of Garden City South was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (heroin) on Hempstead Avenue.

On Aug. 24 at 12:25 a.m., a 24-year-old man, of Lynbrook was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (Xanax and concentrated cannabis), unlawful possession of marijuana and disobeying a traffic control device on Hendrickson Avenue.

A 54-year-old, of Floral Park and Clarance Garden, 62, of Queens Village were arrested on Aug. 24 at 6:54 p.m. and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance (heroin and crack cocaine) on Broadway.

At 7:07 p.m. on Aug. 24, a 53-year-old woman, of St. Albans was arrested and charged with grand larceny and petit larceny on Broadway.

A 21-year-old, of Elmont was arrested on Aug. 24 at 10:30 p.m. after an investigation involving Lynbrook detectives and the Nassau County Police Narcotics Bureau. Charges included possession of a controlled substance (heroin), and sale of a controlled substance (heroin), assault, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

On Aug. 27 at 11:48 a.m., a 21-year-old man, of Lynbrook was arrested and charged with criminal mischief on Denton Avenue.

At 11:50 p.m. on Aug. 27, a 39-year-old, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and harassment on Broadway.

A 17-year-old minor of Lynbrook was arrested and charged with sale of marijuana on Charles Street on Aug. 27 at 11:55 p.m.

On Aug. 27 at 11:55 p.m., a minor, 16, of Lynbrook was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Charles Street.

At 8:56 p.m. on Aug. 29, a 49-year-old woman, and Dajon Heron, 20, of Yonkers were arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Attempted grand larceny

On Aug. 24 at 4:10 a.m., an unidentified person attempted to remove the tires and rims from a 2016 Honda Accord, which was parked in the driveway of the owner’s home on Harding Avenue.

Criminal mischief

An unidentified person damaged a 2007 Nissan Sentra, breaking the rear glass window on Aug. 24 at 7:50 a.m. The vehicle was parked a parking lot at 1000 Peninsula boulevard. Total damage is estimated to be approximately $240.

Petit larceny

At 3:20 p.m. on Aug. 26, a manager of CVS Pharmacy on 633 Merrick Road reported that an unknown male entered the store and stole $278.80 in nail polish and nail treatments. The male fled in a white Chevrolet Malibu.
