The course at the Seawane Club in Hewlett Harbor was filled with enthusiastic golfers who were there for a good cause when the annual Lynbrook Community Chest Mayor’s Golf Outing was held on July 11. The event is co-sponsored by the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce.

“We thank the golfers and all of our sponsors that made this happen,” said Mayor Bill Hendrick. “The Lynbrook Community Chest is a very worthwhile organization … many people don’t know about it, but they do a lot of good work.”

This year’s honorees were the Lynbrook Little League and Craft Kitchen & Tap House.

The Lynbrook Community Chest is a charitable organization that provides assistance to residents of the Lynbrook community who are in need of help due to financial or economic hardship.

Jeff Greenfield, chairman of the Lynbrook Golf Committee, noted that it was a “glorious day” for golfing, and thanked all the sponsors — including Sunrise Volkswagen and Audi of Lynbrook who sponsored the hole-in-one challenge.

The day was capped off by a delicious barbeque on the expansive patio of the club, complete with ribs, chicken, grilled vegetables and an array of sweet desserts and ice creams. An award ceremony was held after dinner to congratulate the winners. A raffle was also held.
