Lynbrook Board of Education elects officers

Lynbrook and East Rockaway school districts held their annual reorganization meetings last week, and board members voted on their assigned roles for the 2016-17 school year.

In Lynbrook on July 5, William Belmont, Ellen Marcus and Heather Hanson were all unanimously re-elected to serve as president, vice president and secretary, respectively.

After taking oath for the new school year, the board recognized four varsity lacrosse players who had earned All-American honors. Molly Carter and Zachary Barrett earned Honorable Mention All-American status. In addition, Barrett and his teammates Quentin Herrmann and Zachary LoCicero were all named Academic All-Americans.

In East Rockaway, on July 7, Patricia Nicoletti was appointed as Board of Education President, replacing Kristin Ochtera in the role. Keith Gamache was appointed as Vice President.
