His wife Ronnie proofread the book and he then sent it to some friends in Bermuda to fact check it. While at a Freeport Rotary Club meeting, Lacey met Horst Austinovich of the Bermuda Press who helped him publish “Pink Rock.” Although the book has sold slowly, Lacey said, the responses have been nothing but positive.

Lynbrook resident Don Roth read Pink Rock and found it, “suspenseful and intriguing. Having visited Bermuda years ago I could relate to some of the locations he described in the book.”

Lacey’s home was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy, but he hopes it will be fully restored in the next month or so. His first floor was wiped out, so he and his wife have been living on the second floor.

Lacey grew up on Evergreen Avenue and now has two grown children. He works as a graphic designer and is a volunteer assistant coach at Seaford High School, where he coaches the kickers and punters.
