Through First Robotics, the teams will use a new software to construct the robots next year that allows students to design and test their robots in the virtual realm, which will reduce the trial and error portion and make the robots run more efficient, Bernhardt said. Although the software is free for the district, the program’s budget was $5,000 on top of some donations that were made. In the future, Bernhardt would like to get some corporate sponsors to provide even more opportunities to students.
