Lynbrook students attend National Portfolio Day

Posted

A select group of 14 Lynbrook High School art students attended the New York National Portfolio Day event on Nov. 17 at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan. Admissions representatives from more than100 schools were in attendance to review student artwork, discuss their programs and answer questions about professional careers in art and design. The students, whose interests include fashion design, graphic design, fine arts and art education, received useful feedback to further develop their art portfolios. They were also accepted on the spot to various colleges, based on their portfolio reviews.

Scheduled at venues around the country, National Portfolio Days provide an opportunity for anyone wishing to pursue higher education in the visual and related arts to meet with representatives of colleges accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. The event is geared toward high school students, parents, teachers, guidance counselors and college transfer students.
