A ROK the Park Health and Wellness Fair was held at Oxbow Park in East Rockaway last Friday evening to promote healthy living in the community. More than 35 local vendors representing a variety of products and services attended.

“We came into East Rockaway to engage the community with our business, and we stand by that statement today, tomorrow and every day,” said ROK co-owner Michael Hawksby.

Hawksby thanked Mayor Francis Lenahan and the Village Board for their support, who said that they’d like this to be an annual event. “Special thanks to Trustee Ed Corrado, who worked hand and hand with ROK as the liaison to the village, so that we covered all the bases in preparation for the event. The Village DPW did a great job of getting the park ready, and really stepped up to help us. It was a great success and a real enjoyment to see members, family and friends enjoying the night.”

“To be able to show or thanks to the members and the community, and run our events and have them be successes, is what drives us to do more and be the best health club around,” said co-owner Bob D’Urso.
