Village hosts winter celebration

Ex-Captain Steve Grogan and members of the Lynbrook Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary manned a table for Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warrior at the Lynbrook Winter Celebration. The Christmas cards which were written by children as well as grown-ups will be personally given to the wounded soldiers in the Walter Reed National Military Hospital in Bethesda, MD, on Friday when Lynbrook firefighters and other Nassau firefighters travel there to present the cards and Christmas presents to the wounded warriors receiving treatment and rehabilitation.

If you took part in the Lynbrook Winter Festival, you were truly walking in a winter wonderland — fun, games, rides, entertainment, dancing, singing, great food and fellowship for residents and their neighbors.

Held on Altantic Avenue between Sunrise Highway and Merrick Road, the day culminated with the annual lighting of the Village Christmas tree.
