Lawrence High School students succeed at DECA

For the 12th consecutive year Lawrence High School students will compete on the international level of DECA as sophomores Massimo Cancelliere and Harrison Kim placed sixth overall with their Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan at the state career conference in Rochester March 8-10. Cancelliere and Kim will compete in Anaheim, Ca. in late April.

Kiran Rampersaud took home a medal for his top 10 role-play in Accounting Applications and John Loughlin Jr. placed in the top 10 of the exam portion in the category of Hospitality & Tourism Professional Selling.

All of these students were in their first year competing in DECA, which provides opportunities for students to develop skills in the areas of vocational understanding, leadership development, civic consciousness and social intelligence.
