With two successful performances behind her in her native Long Island, recording artist Ali Berke is preparing for a highly anticipated show at the Long Island Fall Festival at Heckscher State Park in Huntington on Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.
“I’m very excited,” Berke said. “[Attendees] can definitely expect a great show and some songs they will definitely know the words to. I’m looking forward to having this new experience and putting on a great show for everyone.”
Berke is fresh off a pair of shows at Adventureland, in Farmingdale, on Aug. 30, and at the Roosevelt Field Mall on Sept. 8. The Oceanside resident has also been at work at the Syosset-based Loft Sound Studio, recording singles that she said she hoped to release in the fall. The songs will eventually be available on Spotify, iTunes and other platforms, and she plans to eventually record an EP. Berke has also been working on dance choreography at Double Up Dance Studio in Connecticut.
Berke said her shows were “absolutely magical” so far, and noted that the audience was energetic at both of her stops. “My favorite part of the shows is definitely the interaction with the fans after meeting them, taking pictures and signing autographs,” she said.
When she was 3, Berke said, she first fell in love with music. Her first time in a recording studio came at age 13. She moved to Oceanside from Manhattan with her family when she was a child, and graduated from Oceanside High School in 2018. This fall she will attend Nassau Community College, where she plans to study music while juggling her career and a waitressing job. She described her sound as “pop with an urban R&B vibe.” She said that an early influence was the TV show “Hannah Montana,” starring Miley Cyrus, on the Disney channel, but these days she is more tuned into artists such as Ariana Grande and Camila Cabello.

Her set at the Fall Festival is scheduled to be 30 minutes, and she encouraged anyone who has heard her music before to come and listen for their favorites, while also inviting new audience members to check out her performance.
Many of Berke’s songs have a positive message, such as anti-bullying themes. Her music has provided her a platform to express herself and an opportunity to sing on many different stages. She sang the national anthem at the Nassau Coliseum before a Long Island Nets game, and in Coney Island before a Brooklyn Cyclones game, performed at the famed South by Southwest Festival in Texas and sang “God Bless America” before a Mets-Phillies game at Citi Field in 2017.
