Oceanside's Meta Osteria to host annual breast cancer fundraiser

Meta Osteria & Barra is holding its annual breast cancer fundraising event on Nov. 27 benefitting the Hewlett House, a non-profit dedicated to providing resources, education and a safe haven for those whose lives have been touched by cancer according to the organization's website.

Although it is not the first year the Oceanside Italian eatery has hosted the fundraiser, it is the first since a major remodel and name change, according to assistant manager Susan Ferno. The restaurant originally held the name Sole until this spring.

Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, customers had the opportunity to donate and sign pink paper ribbons to hang on the restaurant’s walls, as well as buy T-shirts, pencils and bracelets — all leading up to its major fundraiser this November.

Tickets are $100 per person with a maximum of 10 people per table. There will be a five-course dinner with open bar, raffles, life music by the Second Street Band, and Assemblyman Brian Curran will be honored as Man of the Hour.
