Geography Bee
Courtesy Malverne schools

The Davison Avenue Intermediate School Social Studies Club participated in the National Geographic Bee for students in grades four through eight. The winner of this year’s school bee was fifth-grader Shannon Lawless. Shannon completed a written examination, which was submitted to the National Geographic Society to determine state competitors. Up to 100 of the top scorers on that test in each state will then be eligible for the state competition on April 4.
The state winners will progress to the national championship and be eligible to win its first place prize, a $25,000 college scholarship, at the national competition May 19-21, 2014 in Washington, D.C.
