Students acknowledged for academic achievement

Hewlett resident Jessica Keeler was named to the fall dean’s list at the University of Rhode Island. To be eligible, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.

A quintet of locals earned dean’s list status for the fall semester at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. Libby Berman, Rachel Krevans, Devin Love and Rayna Smilowitz, all of Hewlett, and Danielle Cooperman from Woodmere were among the students who attained a scholastic average of at least a 3.6, while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses.

Veronica Kanhai, of Inwood, was recognized for making the President’s List at SUNY Canton during he fall semester. School President Zvi Szafran congratulated Kanhai, a health care management major.

“Congratulations, Veronica!,” he said, “you’ve earned one of the highest GPAs at the college during your studies. It is my honor to personally acknowledge your academic achievement. Your grades are among the very best at the college.”
