Police arrested two East Meadow men after observing them carry out a drug-related transaction on April 16 around 5:20 p.m., officials said. When one defendant fled the scene, officers followed him to his home and found him in possession of crack, cocaine, pills and a weapon.

Dominick Cestaro, 18, was arrested at the scene of the transaction, during which he was driving a Ford Mustang in the vicinity of Rugby Street and McKinley Avenue.

Police said they witnessed James Capolino, 38, pull up next to him in a Toyota Camry and hand him what appeared to be a controlled substance.

Capolino fled in his car and was later apprehended at his house, where he was found with 52 grams of cocaine, 500 milligrams of crack/cocaine, 460 pills of alprazolam, and a billy club.

Cestaro is being charged with criminal possession. Capolino is being charged with several counts of criminal possession of both drugs and a weapon. He is also being charged with obstructing government administration and resisting arrest.

Both were arraigned on April 17 in the Nassau County First District Court. Capolino’s next appearance is April 20.
