Merokean Richard Seibert is a chiropractor and an Olympic-style weightlifter with six national titles to his name. At age 50, Seibert recently lifted 282 pounds in the clean and jerk.

As a teenager, athleticism and strength were never a problem for Richard Seibert, and he proved that by competing on the cross-country and wrestling teams at Holy Trinity High School in Hicksville. He also proved it by becoming a six-time national champion weightlifter. more

Working it out at the Mer-O-Lympics

More than 40 kids ran, jumped and played at the third annual Merr-O-Lympics at Chatterton Elementary School on May 16. Elementary and middle school students had the opportunity to participate in five activities, including the standing long jump, vertical jump, sit and reach, and more at the event hosted by the Merrick Kiwanis Club. more
