Merrick's Noah Rubin captured the U.S. Tennis Association's Boys' 18s National Championship on Aug. 10 in Kalamazoo, Mich. Next up for Rubin: the U.S. Open, which begins later this month in Queens.

Noah Rubin wins national tennis title

Noah Rubin, an 18-year-old Merrick tennis star, won a Wimbledon championship last month, but that alone was not enough to propel him into this month’s U.S. Open. A tennis court victory on Sunday in Kalamazoo, Mich., however, netted Rubin the U.S. Tennis Association’s Boys 18s National Championship and secured him a berth in the Open. more

Merrick USTA team wins state championship

This past weekend, a U.S. Tennis Association team of women from the Carefree Racquet Club in North Merrick went 5-0 at the state championship in Syracuse and will now head to nationals in California Oct. 1 to 3. more
