Members of the Mepham High School Physics Olympiad team recently took home the first-place overall trophy at the Long Island Physics Olympics at SUNY Farmingdale. Above, team members, center, from left, Nicole Altomare, Corryn Chaimowitz, Connor Garet, Brian Keohane and Matthew Waldmann, were honored at the May Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District Board of Education meeting. They were joined by their coach, Mepham physics teacher William Leacock, left, and Central District Superintendent Dr. Henry Kiernan.
