Betty Buckley shares some of her favorite songs

The acclaimed actress-singer visits the area to share some of her favorite tunes during “An Evening with Betty Buckley.” Buckley, that “Voice of Broadway,” performs new material, including songs from her latest album, “Ghostlight,” along with hits from her Broadway roles and the cabaret stage. Buckley, who won acclaim for her role-defining performance as Grizabella, the Glamour Cat, in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Cats,” is sure to highlight some songs from that show, now back on the Broadway stage.

Giant artworks jump to life with amazing speed, unveiling icons and masterpieces in mere moments, while there is constant activity on stage, attracting attention and delighting the senses with energy, spirit and action.

L.I. Parrot Expo
Birds, birds and more birds command attention at the annual Parrot Expo, presented by the Long Island Parrot Society. Long Island’s only major exotic bird event offers wide-ranging activities for bird lovers of every age. The all-day extravaganza features parrots on display and informative species-specific sessions. This year’s focus is on behavior, with interactive presentations how to better understand your parrot and deal with pesky behaviors. Meet with avian veterinarians, along with an interactive education center for learning the facts and foibles of “parrot parenthood” and find all types of “parrotphernalia” to purchase.
