Introducing the Malverne Chamber of Commerce

Posted

For years, Malverne’s business organization was known as the Malverne Merchants and Professional Association. That moniker, however, is now part of village history.

The group, now called the Malverne Chamber of Commerce, has a new logo, a new look, and a soon-to-debut new website — all designed by Malvernite and chamber board member, Maria Casini through her company, Visual Fuel Design.

As has been tradition for years, the Malverne Chamber of Commerce will sponsor time-honored village events, like the annual Easter egg hunt at Reese Park, which happens on Saturday, April 15, and the Malverne Street Fair, which is scheduled in the fall.

A new chamber event will be added to their roster this spring through its first annual village Art Walk. Dozens of art pieces created by local talent will be displayed in businesses throughout Malverne. Artists can apply to have their work shown by contacting chamber board member Kathi Monroe at 790-8158. The art show will run for a month — sometime between May and June — and artists will have the opportunity to sell their work as part of the exhibition. A map detailing all artwork on display during the Art Walk will be available in local merchant shops in the coming weeks.

The chamber is also teaming with the Malverne Rotary Club and the Malverne Civic Association to create a monument to honor New York Police Department Detective, Steven McDonald. Further details were not available.

Anyone interested in getting involved in the Malverne Chamber of Commerce's many projects can do so through its Facebook page or by calling 790-8158.
