SUNY Geneseo junior Sara Rosenzweig finished seventh at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Championships to lead the Knights to first place out of 44 teams. Geneseo hosted the meet at Letchworth State Park.

Rosenzweig, of Merrick, is a 2013 graduate of Kennedy High School in Bellmore, where she recorded a number of the school’s fastest times in cross-country and track, qualifying twice for the New York State Cross-Country Championship.
Geneseo’s finish at the Atlantic Regional automatically qualified the squad for its 17th consecutive NCAA Division III Championship race, as the top-two teams in the region earn automatic berths.

Geneseo took the Atlantic Regional crown with 75 points. Oneonta finished second with 89 points, followed by RPI (103), St. Lawrence (128) and Rochester (165). Rosenzweig ran the six-kilometer course in a time of 22:15.4.

Geneseo went on to place second of 32 teams at the NCAA National Championship in Winneconne, Wis., where Rosenzweig crossed the finish line in 37th place out of 280 runners in 21:47.4.
