Although Seidman said he would have liked the students to have been able to bring the items to Harlem RBI themselves, he said the organization was thankful for their donations. After waiting several years for the “right class” to come along so the initiative could get started, the teacher noted that he now hopes to organize a donation drive every year.
“This is something I’ve tried to get off the ground for a few years. I knew if I were ever going to get this off the ground, this would be the class to do it with,” he said. “If it weren’t the right class, this would not have happened.”
