Eddie Money
Rock legend Eddie Money is back — with a musical version of his rise to fame in “Two Tickets to Paradise: The Musical” — and eager to share his life story. This original production, narrated by Money, follows Eddie Mahoney and his family on their journey together as he pursues his dream of rock stardom. The show, based on Money’s life during his formative years in the late 1960s, features seven new songs along with many of his classic hits. Through original songs and familiar tunes, Money explores the impact of his family’s working class roots on his road to success. Songs like “Baby Hold On,” “Take Me Home Tonight” and “Shakin” catapult everyone back to an era gone by. His signature raspy husky voice brings the story to life; enhancing the characters while highlighting his softer side as well as his enduring hits. The lively production showcases Money’s longtime touring band, including guitarist Benito Dibartoli, bassist Lee Beverly, drummer Glenn Symmonds, and on keyboards, Chris Grove (formerly of Survivor). A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Money’s charity, The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.
Friday and Saturday, Jan. 16-17; also Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 24-25. $30 and $40. Madison Theatre, Molloy College, 1000 Hempstead Ave., Rockville Centre. (516) 323-4444 or www.madisontheatreny.org.
