Seven Kennedy seniors to play college lacrosse

“I felt like I was able to compete with the better kids,” Lampert said. “College lacrosse grew on me.”

He chose Ithaca College, he said, because “I felt like I’d get a great education.” Ithaca ranks among the Top 10 regional schools in the North, according to U.S. News. Lampert plans to major in business.

Sports: lacrosse, football, basketball

Will attend: Adelphi University, Garden City.

Racalbuto, who in addition to playing midfield for the lacrosse team is also the Kennedy football team’s quarterback and a standout on the basketball team, said he knew that he wanted to play college lacrosse as early as third grade.

“I loved it,” he said. When he made Kennedy’s varsity squad as a sophomore, he gained confidence and began to believe he had a shot, he said.

Of Adelphi, he said, “I loved every part of it. I felt like I was at home.” He plans to major in business.
