Cedarhurst hosts Disability Awareness Fair on Oct. 15

The Village of Cedarhurst is hosting a special needs resource fair presented by Assemblywoman Melissa Miller (R-Atlantic Beach) in conjunction with the National Council of Jewish Women-Peninsula Section.

The fair is on Sunday, Oct. 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Andrew J. Parise Cedarhurst Park, at the intersection of Summit and Cedarhurst avenue. The park is home to one of the first universally accessible playgrounds on Long Island.

The event is for people of all abilities and ages. More than 35 different vendors are expected. Come and learn more about fitness and socialization programs for individuals with special needs, developmental preschools and special education school’s wheelchair ramps, stair lift and vertical platforms, and even a newspaper focused on special needs issues run by people with disabilities.

There will be fun activities for the whole family and refreshments will be provided.
