Hewlett resident Semion Mosheshvili, 42, was arrested after turning himself into the police at the 123rd Precinct in the Tottenville section of Staten Island just after midnight on June 18, after allegedly shooting a 10-year-old boy in the shoulder at a family gathering in Prince’s Bay on Saturday about 7 p.m.

Mosheshvili apparently was holding a 9mm gun on the second floor of the home on Deisius Street where the party was taking place, police said. The firearm was accidentally fired and grazed the boy, according to police. Mosheshvili fled. The gun belonged to the homeowner.

The boy does not live at that house, police said. He was taken to Staten Island University Hospital, Prince’s Bay and then was transferred to Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.

Mosheshvili was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17, police said.
