Police respond to explosion near Port Authority

NYPD: One suspect in custody; FDNY: one non-life-threatening injury reported

New York City police responded just before 8 a.m. today to a reported explosion at 42nd Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan. The explosion reportedly occurred near Port Authority.

CNN reported that the A, C and E subway lines were evacuated following the explosion, which, numerous media outlets reported, was caused by a bomb of some kind.

The NYPD reported at 8:35 a.m. that one male suspect was in custody.

FDNY reported one non-life-threatening injury at the scene, as of 8:30 a.m.
