Student athletes to advance careers in college

Graduating seniors in the East Meadow School District affirmed their decision to further their athletic careers in college by signing letters of intent at May 31 ceremonies at East Meadow and W.T. Clarke high schools.

Patrick Hoffman and William McQuillan, both of East Meadow High School, will become a part of the baseball teams at Molloy College and New York Institute of Technology, respectively. Ashley Pereira will also remain local to her high school, as she intends to join the swimming program at Long Island University Post. Celina Lo is set to join the lacrosse team at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania, while Christina Loeffler signed on with the softball team at Post University in Connecticut and Victoria Fuduli will join the Le Moyne College soccer program in Syracuse.

Three individuals from W.T. Clarke all signed to join programs at NYIT: Mike Rodriguez is joining McQuillan on the baseball team, Rexhep Dalipi has committed to the school’s soccer team and Javier Lopez will be running track for Old Westbury.

Kyle Kandel is set to play football at Long Island University Post, while a pair of students is slated to enroll at Queens College. Matt Rubenstein will join the baseball team and Katherine Barahona will play lacrosse. Additionally, Natalia Reyes has signed on with Southern New Hampshire University for a spot on its lacrosse team.
