Two weeks after ceremonies marked the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, the Town of Hempstead honored another fallen hero. Dozens gathered at the intersection of West Henrietta and Fulton Avenue in Oceanside on the morning of Aug. 28 to commemorate their neighbor, NYPD officer Steven Brandow, who died in February from Covid-19.
