A local tradition embraces the 21st century this weekend

The Long Island Fair, Old Bethpage Village Restoration’s recreation of a 19th century county fair, is an eagerly anticipated fall tradition. Take a break from the fast pace of modern life with a glimpse of days gone by, with activities for all ages. Visit animals in the livestock barn, take part in corn husking and potato sack races, and test your skill and strength at the two-person cross-cut sawing in friendly competition. Enjoy historical period entertainment with musicians, dancers, jugglers, and mime. along with the Old Time Baseball League’s end-of-season matches.

Craft and Fine Art Festival
Nassau County Museum of Art’s grounds provide the lush setting for a fall showcase of the best of the nation’s crafts artists — including talented artisans from our area. Browse among functional and decorative pottery, precious and nontraditional jewelry, blown and stained glass, furniture, wearable art, and much more. The family-friendly event features entertainment, workshops and demonstrations, including alpaca shearing.
