O’side parade honors those who gave all

Posted

Oceanside residents lined up waving flags, saluting and enjoying the Memorial Day parade, led by Grand Marshal Fred Morse. Veterans and the DAV, civic groups, students from the district’s schools, residents and children of all ages lined the parade route and heard the moving speeches at the parade’s end. It was a day to honor those who gave all, to thank them for their sacrifice, so that we have the freedom to celebrate and remember on a glorious day.

The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce took a big part in the Memorial Day parade by purchasing refreshments, water, ice tea, cookies and chips for all the marchers in the parade when they arrived at the high school ceremony. They also put American flags on Long Beach Road.
