O’side Kiwanettes celebrate 60 years

For their 60th anniversary the Oceanside Kiwanettes will be honoring “Women of Distinction”, including past presidents of the club and Oceanside Board of Education Trustee Sandie Schoell.

The club thanked the community for its support, gifts and donations throughout the years, which has allowed them to help senior citizens, adopt families at Christmas, contribute to the Firemen’s Retirement Home and the Firemen’s Burn Center, give Scholarships to the State University of New York Empire State College, provide scholarships for graduating female students at Oceanside High School, support the Interfaith Nutrition Network, South Nassau Communities Hospital, the Stephanie Joyce Kahn Fundation, and other charitable causes.

The anniversary dinner will be April 23, at 6 p.m. at the Oceanside Jewish Center, 2860 Brower Avenue, Oceanside. Dinner costs $45. For information contact Trustee Fran Bacon at (516) 536-6178 or email safetygirl13501@aol.com.
