Rosano wins district election
Beats Fish to become commissioner
The Oceanside Fire District held elections for a vacant commissioner’s seat on Tuesday, and Biagio Rosano won.
Rosano was running against Gary Fish. Both are members of the Oceanside Fire Department.
Rosano came away with 288 votes (64 percent) against Fish’s 161 votes (36 percent).
Fish has been a member of the OFD for 25 years and was a former treasurer of the department. He is an ex-captain and member of Columbia Engine Company No. 1.
Rosano is a newer member of the department, joining when he moved to Oceanside about 10 years ago. He has served with South Side Hose Company 2. Rosano said that his experience as a forensic accountant would be a benefit to the fire district because he knows how to find out how money is being spent and also how to save it.
