Seminars on how to grieve taxes

Posted

Nassau County homeowners who want to grieve their property tax assessments can get some tips at four seminars hosted by County Legislator Laura Curran.

The workshops will cover information about the process of property valuation and about how to file a tax-assessment grievance with the Assessment Review Commission. The two-hour workshop will provide step-by-step guidance on the grievance process, and will include a question and answer session after the presentation.

The workshops will be led by representatives from the assessment review panel, a spokesman for Curran said. The schedule for the seminars is:

* Jan. 26, 2 to 4 p.m, Baldwin Public Library, 2385 Grand Ave., Baldwin

* Feb. 2, 7 to 9 p.m., Freeport Memorial Library, 144 W. Merrick Rd., Freeport

* Feb. 11, 7 to 9 p.m., Freeport Memorial Library, 144 W. Merrick Rd., Freeport

* Feb. 17, 7 to 9 p.m., Oceanside Library, 30 Davison Ave., Oceanside.
