Sacred Heart in the holiday spirit

Not up to cooking a whole turkey? Join Sacred Heart Parish on Thursday, Nov. 24, from noon to 3 p.m., for a full Thanksgiving Day meal provided by parishioners and local businesses. The parish, at 301 Long Beach Rd., is also hosting its 22nd annual indoor Christmas Fair on Saturday, Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Raffles will be available, and kids can meet Santa Claus.

Finding Dory showing at IP Library

On Friday, Nov. 25, at 1:30 p.m., the Island Park Library — at 176 Long Beach Rd. — will hold a free family screening of Finding Dory. The friendly but forgetful blue tang fish begins a search for her long-lost parents, and everyone learns a few things about the real meaning of family along the way. The movie is 97 minutes, and is rated PG.

Harvest Tea Party

Continuing enjoying the flavors and foods of an autumn harvest even after Thanksgiving, as Chef Barbara Sheridan will serve up a traditional high tea on Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Oceanside Library, complete with scones, finger sandwiches, and desserts. A $5 registration fee is required. Don’t forget to bring your favorite teacup.
