Kids got to practice their bicycle riding skills in the AAA Bike Rodeo at Glen Head Elementary School on April 29. Hosted by Boy Scout Troop 195, Glen Head School PTO and North Shore Community Youth Organization, students from grades two to five rode their bikes around the elementary school on a fully designed course to learn some of the basic safety maneuvers.

Glen Head Elementary Principal Lori Nimmo led the way as kids did several laps, which lasted 15 minutes per group. Prior to the bike ride, students had to complete nine stations beginning with helmet, tire and bike seat safety checks. The following stations focused on understanding how to use hand signals and other safe bicycle maneuvering skills. Once kids went through every station, they showcased their newly learned skills for their parents to see. Members of Road Runners Bicycles from Glen Cove were also there to help students complete each course and enjoy the morning bike ride.
