Weekend film at the library
Stop by the West Hempstead Public this weekend as they feature, “A Wrinkle in Time,” on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. In the film, Meg Murray meets three supernatural beings who transport her through the universe to rescue her father who mysteriously disappeared and is being held captive by an evil force. Chair yoga with Mary Mazzone
Visit the Malverne Public Library for a relaxing program of yoga on Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 11 to 12 p.m. The class, which includes classic postures, meditation and calming music, is suitable for all levels.  Extend your weekend plans for an hour of flexibility at Lakeview Public Library, Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 6 to 7 p.m. Join Dana Tomlin for an energetic Vinyasa flow yoga class where you’ll promote flexibility, strength and positivity. You may bring your own yoga mat or one will be provided for you. Please register at least three days prior to the program. Theatrical showcase
Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Jay Adana, the 2018 Jonathan Larson Grant winner is the featured performer at this year’s Larson Legacy Concert at Adelphi University’s Performing Arts Center, on Sunday, Sept. 23, at 3 p.m. She’ll present excerpts from her new musical, “The Loophole,” which tells the story of a brilliant biracial scientist.
