Dear Editors,

I feel somewhat not at ease from the various articles I have read, between the Herald and the Newsday I have not heard one mention of the poor working conditions for the guys on the trucks and no mention of the fact that it has been almost 3 years that they have been without a contract or a raise. Why is this never mentioned? Why should these guys have to endure such treatment and be blatantly disregarded for the hard work that they do day in and day out? These commissioners and Charles Scarlata himself have denied these guys a fair contract and a raise for almost three years and on election day those workers along with their families and friends spoke out. A large number of those votes came from them because they are sick of this treatment and want a fair raise and contract and no one seems to feel this is important enought to publish. The lives of these guys and the fact that Oceanside has an 8 million dollar budge but yet they can't afford to give 44 guys a raise is apparently not important enough? This is shameful!
