Has anyone met with their case worker from NYS Rising or got any info other than the form letter that they received application.

Almost looks like NYS is dragging their feet to start work after this hurricane season.

Also I heard next step we meet with a case work with additional documents.

Then a NYS contractor or someone visits your house to verify damage and what was repaired.

Then you get to pick from a list of approved contractors.

Then work can start. HOWEVER, at this point you still need to own home, still have to be current on taxes and it still is your primary residence. And you intend for it to remain your primary residence.

Every flood house sold cheap and has a new owner no longer qualified. Anyone who cant keep up with taxes on an empty house no longer qualified. Hey people die, get divorced and move to new states for new jobs all the time.

So at speed they are going this work STARTS spring 2014 and it is needs based, needest go first. So if you are back in a slightly damaged house make a decent income you may qualify but at this rate we are talking 2015 or 2016 before they get to you. Heck something like 1.2% of people die each year. So do the math each month alone less people qualify.

The big storm called Lee in upstate NY that caused flooding in 2010 are only getting NYS riising money now. Which means Spring 2014. How many folks 4 years later with distroyed houses are left? NYS won the waiting game for most of them.
