Floyd B. Watson Elementary School has a new leader. Jennifer Pascarella, longtime assistant principal of South Side Middle School, has become the acting principal at Watson, a job she said she was happy to have.
The Rockville Centre Breast Cancer Coalition hosted its third annual Black & White Cocktail Party fundraiser on Oct. 4 at EGP Gastropub in Oceanside, with 460 people in attendance. The event is the coalition’s largest annual fundraiser, which brought in an estimated $35,000 this year.
As health concerns over vaping and marijuana usage grow, members of the Rockville Centre community are taking action to curb the epidemic before it gets worse. Last week, a group of concerned parents, substance abuse professionals, and law enforcement members held a news conference on Front Street in Rockville Centre urging Senators Kristen Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer to oppose efforts to extend banking access to the marijuana industry.
