The Rockville Centre Little League kicked off its Challenger League season on May 9 at Hickey Field.

The Challenger League gives kids with physical and developmental disabilities the chance to play Little League, with the help of Buddies. There are 35 kids in the league, with more than 100 Buddies providing assistance. Each kid plays to the best of their ability, and everyone has a great time.

For the opening game, the Rockville Centre Lions Club came by and brought hot dogs and popcorn for everyone to enjoy after a fun afternoon of baseball.
