Franco-philes

Actor James Franco, known for his performances in a number of films, was in Rockville Centre on Aug. 10, filming scenes for his latest movie, “Michael.”

The film’s subject is Michael Glatze — played by Franco — who was involved with the gay-rights movement before he rejected his homosexuality and became a Christian minister.

The scenes were shot at El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant and Cannon’s Blackthorn, where Franco was joined by co-star Zachary Quinto, who recently starred as Spock in the newest “Star Trek” films.
