On Oct. 18, Greg Schaefer was named the Rockville Centre Small Businessperson of the Year during the 2013 Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce Small Businessperson of the Year and Legislative Breakfast.

After graduating from Ithaca College with a degree in finance, Schaefer joined the Better Home Health Care Agency, Inc. In his 17 year tenure, he has worked in payroll, accounts payable and receivable before being named CFO in 2009, becoming responsible for the long-term growth and stability of the agency, as well as developing marketing and business plans.

Schaefer has served on various boards of Molloy College and South Nassau Communities Hospital, the Rockville Centre Lions Club, as well as NYSCHP SIT — of which he was selected for Leadership Training. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of both the Rockville Centre Chamber of commerce and Petrall, Inc.

Schaefer is married with two children: a 3-year-old son and a daughter born on Father’s Day.
