Nassau County police have charged a homeless man with a Rockville Centre bank robbery.

Authorities arrested Patrick Smith, 55, on Dec. 13 and charged him with third-degree robbery.

According to police, Smith entered the Capital One Bank at 77 Lincoln Ave. at 12:53 p.m. on Dec. 2 and demanded money from a female teller. He threatened to use a firearm, but no weapon was visible, police said. The teller gave the man an undetermined amount of cash, and he ran into the rear parking lot.

There were six employees and three customers in the bank at the time, and all were unharmed.

Smith will be arraigned on Dec. 14 at First District Court in Hempstead.
