Shannon McComb, the owner of Lucky Finds Boutique, was named the Businessperson of the Year in Rockville Centre by the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce on Oct. 17.

McComb has been the owner of Lucky Finds Boutique since October 2011, an upscale women’s consignment shop in the heart of Rockville Centre’s business district that was voted the Best Consignment Shop on Long Island 2014. She has been in the retail industry for over 25 years and has always aspired to become an entrepreneur.

She has been a member of the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce since her business opened, and this past year held a seat on the board. Her involvement with the chamber has given retailers a voice in the community, and she successfully co-chaired the Chamber’s very first EatShopRock street festival.

Shannon is a firm believer that joining the Chamber is extremely important as a business owner — being able to know what is happening and having a voice to make changes is extremely important. She is also very active with local charities and opens her business to help with fundraisers and donation drop offs for Bethany House during the holidays and Long Island Volunteer Centre’s Prom Boutique Dress Drive. She also donates merchandise from her boutique to the St. Agnes Church Outreach Program for people in need.
