Through Dec. 16, children can mail letters to Santa Claus as green and red mailboxes set up by Nassau County at six parks. The letters must be addressed with a legible name and return address, and will be answered by Santa before Christmas. No postage is necessary.
The mailboxes will be accessible from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at Grant Park on Sheridan Avenue off Broadway in Hewlett, the administration buildings of Wantagh Park at 1 King Road in Wantagh, Eisenhower Park in East Meadow (hours are 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the administration building) and there is a mailbox in parking field 1A by the aquatic center.
There are also mailboxes at Cantiague Park in Hicksville, Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn-North Hills and Rev. Arthur Mackey Sr. Park in Roosevelt.
