Man wanted for string of robberies

Rockville Centre 7-Eleven is latest target

Nassau County police are searching for a man that they believe is responsible for a string of convenience store robberies, with the latest being in Rockville Centre.

Police say that, on May 14 at 3:37 a.m., a man entered a 7-Eleven located at 324 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre and demanded money from the employees. After he got it, the subject ran away on foot on Merrick Road. No injuries were reported.

The man is white, about five feet, eight inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, tan sweatpants and black shoes.

Police say the man may also be responsible for convenience store robberies in Freeport, Valley Stream, East Meadow, Merrick and Baldwin, dating back to April 15. He usually robs a 7-Eleven or other 24-hour convenience store, police said. Based on his clothing and the manner in which the robberies were conducted, detectives think it is the same person.
