Joann Pavona, business office manager at Maple Pointe Assisted Living in Rockville Centre, received the 2014 Noble Caregiver in Assisted Living Award from the New York State Center for Assisted Living (NYSCAL).

The award recognizes frontline caregivers for their contributions that lead to improved quality of life for the residents and a positive work environment for the adult care staff.

Also, Maple Pointe won the 2014 Innovative Practice Award for its staffing, recruitment and retention program.

The center’s inventive “Gratitude Program” encourages a generous atmosphere for the residents, staff and visitors.

Last but not least, Audrey Fullman, director of the Country Cottage at Maple Pointe, earned the 2014 Assisted Living Nurse of the Year Award from NYSCAL.

With her 12 years of experience at Maple Pointe, Fullman advocates compassion when leading a dementia unit that serves 45 residents.

“Audrey uses her knowledge and skills to positively affect our residents’ quality of life,” said Tammy Marshall, executive director at Maple Pointe.
