The scouts of Rockville Centre Girl Scouts Troop 843 brought and filled stockings for Long Beach West Elementary School students on Dec. 19.

The troop sold crafts and magnets at the recent Rockville Centre Recreation Center Craft Fair to raise money for the stockings.

The girls also made flyers and dropped off bags at neighbors’ homes asking for donations. They enlisted the help of the RVC Girl Scout Association to spread the word about the stocking drive and for donations.

Troop 843 was able to collect enough donations to fill 375 Christmas and Hanukkah stockings, which were driven to Long Beach West Elementary School on Tuesday.

Other RVC Girl Scout troops and The Best Buddies & Center Stage clubs from South Side Middle School and South Side High School were filling more stockings for Long Beach East Elementary School and collecting toys for both elementary schools.
