Mercy will offer winter sessions of Diabetes Self-Management Training programs. The four-session programs will be conducted in January on Tuesday afternoons from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. and in February on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The program is most often covered by medicare, medicaid and private insurance. Tree of Life Yoga
Central Synagogue of Nassau County, 430 DeMott Ave., is again sponsoring a Fall session, with evening classes of yoga. The classes are open to yoga students of all levels. The Tree of Life Yoga will be offering a series of 12 classes, that began on Sept. 13, at 6:30 p.m. — a new day and time. You may pay as you go for $15 a class. Members of the community are invited to participate. Phillips House Museum of the Village of Rockville Centre
28 Hempstead Avenue is open, free to the public, on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. and by appointment by calling: 764-7459. The museum, a sea captain's house built in 1886, has period furnishings. Permanent displays include kitchen tools, wood-working tools, toys, dolls and period glassware. The trustees are always interested in exhibiting collections of local residents. If you have one you would like to share with the community on a temporary basis, please call the above number.
