On Wednesday, Dec. 12 at noon, the club will meet at the United Church, located at 430 Morris Ave. The chorus will entertain with Christmas songs and wine and cheese will be served. A monetary food drive will be conducted for the needy.
SSMS presents STEAM Lab
On Friday, Dec. 14, from 1:20 to 2 p.m., South Side Middle School will hold a ribbon cutting to present its new Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math Laboratory. The STEAM lab was paid for in party by a grant from the RVC Education Foundation. The ribbon cutting will be located at room 114 in the school.
United Church holds pageant
On Sunday, Dec. 16 at 5 p.m., the United Church will hold its White Gift Pageant, which consists of carol singing, the Christmas Story dramatized by members in full costume and the offering of gifts. The Board of Missions will be working with The INN, and among the items needed are toys, children's books, clothing for teenagers and children, and gift certificates for teenagers. Tree of Life Yoga
Central Synagogue of Nassau County, 430 DeMott Ave., is again sponsoring a Fall session, with evening classes of yoga. The classes are open to yoga students of all levels. The Tree of Life Yoga will be offering a series of 12 classes, that began on Sept. 13, at 6:30 p.m. — a new day and time. You may pay as you go for $15 a class. Members of the community are invited to participate. Phillips House Museum of the Village of Rockville Centre
28 Hempstead Avenue is open, free to the public, on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. and by appointment by calling: 764-7459. The museum, a sea captain's house built in 1886, has period furnishings. Permanent displays include kitchen tools, wood-working tools, toys, dolls and period glassware. The trustees are always interested in exhibiting collections of local residents. If you have one you would like to share with the community on a temporary basis, please call the above number.
